First Aid Courses

Holly is a certified First Aid Instructor and individual affiliate through the Lifesaving Society BC/Yukon branch.
In 2015, Holly joined her sister Jill Colpitts and became co-owner of Safe Beginnings First Aid.

 

Safe Beginnings First Aid is Canada’s leading provider of infant and toddler-focused safety courses; with over 8000 caregivers and professionals trained by them since late 2016. Public courses are scheduled each month all across the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley and Sea-to-Sky areas.

Infant/Child CPR, Choking and Injury Prevention

This 2-hour course focuses on CPR and choking for infants and children, as well as injury prevention for when babies become mobile.

Know what to do if an infant or child:

  • Goes unconscious
  • Stops breathing
  • Begins to choke

A discussion on injury prevention for small children is included.

This course is for knowledge only and no certification will be awarded. If you are needing certification, please refer to the 5-hour course or any of the other courses listed below.

ONLINE Infant/Child CPR, Choking and Injury Prevention

In 2019, we adapted our most popular course, Infant/Child CPR, Choking and Injury Prevention, into a video-based, at-your-own-pace online course – accessible anytime, anywhere!

First Aid for the Infant and Toddler years

This 5-hour course is designed specifically for new families.

All the content of the Infant/Child CPR course is included: CPR and choking for infants and children, as well as injury prevention for when babies become mobile.

Know what to do if an infant or child:

  • Goes unconscious
  • Stops breathing
  • Begins to choke

First aid items discussed include common toddler injuries such as bleeding, burns, bee stings and seizures. Heart attack, stroke, and use of AEDs (defibrillators) are also discussed – making this a great course for the whole family.
